Flake admits it's all politics
Jeff Flake now admits that he was even more committed to blocking a $1,500 tax cut for the middle class after a veto threat from the President got his "competitive nature" flowing.
"The president's veto threat did more than anything to ensure passage of the bill," Flake told the Wall Street Journal. "It stirs up the competitive nature."
Is he serious?
Flake's statement shows what Arizona would get from him in the Senate, political gamesmanship that goes nowhere. The fact that Flake's own priority in a debate over whether 2.9 million Arizonans get a tax cut is to win a political game is offensive.
Flake is demonstrating once again that he will stand up for millionaires and billionaires at any opportunity, and sees the middle class as political chess pieces.
