Fiesta Bowl calls for return of tainted cash;
AZ Dems made same call -- 48 days ago
PHOENIX -- In a breaking story today, The Arizona Republic reports that the Fiesta Bowl is asking politicians and political committees to give back about $50,000 in what it says were illegal campaign contributions.
This rings a bell.
Back on March 30, just after news broke of the Fiesta Bowl scandal, Arizona Democratic Party Chairman Andrei Cherny issued a strong public statement, including the following line:
"I call upon every elected official of either party to immediately return every cent in campaign contributions they received from the corrupt Fiesta Bowl organization."
