Andrei Cherny
As an Arizona criminal prosecutor, a former White House advisor, a best-selling historian, a nationally-recognized economic policy expert, a Navy reserve officer, and a businessman working with some of America’s top companies, Andrei Cherny has been a leader on the issues confronting Arizona in the 21st century. On Jan. 22, 2011, Andrei was elected Chairman of the Arizona Democratic Party for the 2011-2012 election cycle. He is working to build a big-tent, bottom-up, mainstream Democratic Party that is ready to build an Arizona we can all be proud of.
As an Arizona Assistant Attorney General, Andrei successfully prosecuted dozens of criminal cases involving multi-million dollar financial crimes, Ponzi schemes, home mortgage fraud, public corruption, and illegal immigrant smuggling rings.
Andrei has provided policy and strategy advice to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, Cabinet members, governors, and some of America’s most prominent business and civic leaders.
Andrei lives in Phoenix with his wife Stephanie, son Ben, and daughter Belle (fifth-generation Arizonans). He was born and raised in California and worked his way through college at Harvard and law school at the University of California. Andrei has served on the City of Phoenix Commission on Housing and Neighborhoods and the board of the Arizona League of Conservation Voters.
