Chair of the Arizona Democratic Party Bill Roe
Bill Roe
Bill Roe grew up in Chapel Hill, NC and attended high school in Maryland suburb of Washington, DC. Bill has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Oberlin College, and a degree in law from Columbia University Law School. He went on to serve five years in the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, Bill worked for a New York City law firm and then moved to Tucson in 1975. Bill and his wife Alice have been married for 43 years. They have two grown children and three grandchildren.
In addition to being active Democrats, Bill and Alice have a genuine interest and investment in the advancement of our state. Bill served 12 years on the Arizona State Parks Board, two state parks task forces over the last 25 years and the Arizona State Parks Foundation.
Bill has worked with all levels of government, non-profit conservation organizations, land owners and donors in order to protect land and open spaces – everything from soccer fields to wildlife refuges. Currently, Bill chairs the Pima County Conservation Acquisition Commission that recommends to the Pima County Board of Supervisors the use of Open Space Bond Funds.
Bill is the first Arizona Democratic Party Chair to hail outside of Maricopa County in decades.
